There are so many ways to spell it. Hummus, houmous, chumus… But there is only one way to spell “falafel”. And in this case, it’s T-A-S-T-Y.
When ordering a pitta item like I did, you are given a choice of white or brown bread. If you are gluten-free, there are gluten-free flatbreads avaliable on request. The pitta, while small, was stuffed to bursting with falafel balls, hummus, mixed salad and tahini and mango sauces, dill pickles and green chillies the proverbial icing on the cake. In fact, it was packed so full I had to eat it with a fork lest I develop lockjaw.
The falafels are crunchy yet soft at the same time and the hummus is neither too smooth nor too coarse. Being a veteran of another falafel joint I found the salad cut up a bit larger than there, not something I particularly liked. Furthermore, once the falafels were done with all that was left was cold and soggy with all the salad. Would have preferred a bit more on the falafel front. And while the bar itself had fresh lemonade and juice, I thought there could be more diversity in the drink options.
In conclusion, disadvantages outside it was worth the £3.90 price tag because it was extremely filling and packed full. I will definitely be paying another visit!
